I am a compassionate and dedicated child & young person psychotherapeutic counsellor fully registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy – as a member of its College for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapies - and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I studied at the renowned Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education in London, achieving a UKCP accredited Diploma in Child Psychotherapeutic Counselling. My Approach
I am trained as an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor – this means my approach takes ideas from different therapeutic and developmental models – humanistic, psychodynamic, attachment theory, understanding of trauma and brain development – and I can tailor therapy or counselling to the needs of the individual.

Parent & Carer Consultations
I have a private practice, where I support young people ages six to 25, based at Brighton Consulting Rooms, Preston Park, Brighton, and The Yews Centre, Haywards Heath, West Sussex. Online/remote therapy can be discussed for older teenagers and young people, but for young children I can only offer face-to-face appointments. I usually see children and young people for weekly, 50 minute sessions. For very young children, sessions may be shorter if 50 minutes seems too long for the child to manage...
Although a period of counselling or psychotherapy can be helpful for some children, it is not always appropriate, or the child/young person may not want it. Either way, it is almost always a children's parents or primary carers who are the most important relationships in their lives, and who will need to support children and young people with the struggles they have as they grow up.
But parenting can be very difficult, perhaps especially with the challenges...
